Blogs Come Along Like Buses: Thumbs Up Photography Launches Website & Charity Exhibition.
Hey everyone!
You wait for a blog post and two come along at once :)
I've always believed in the power of connection and the incredible things that happen when photographers unite. That's why I'm so proud to be part of the Thumbs Up Photography team, a fantastic group of individuals who, over the past two years, have built a thriving Facebook community of over 1600 members – and it truly embodies the spirit of photographic camaraderie!
For those who haven't yet experienced the warmth of our virtual darkroom, Thumbs Up Photography is a vibrant and supportive Facebook group where photographers of all levels, styles, and interests come together to share their work, offer constructive feedback, learn from each other, and simply celebrate the art of capturing moments. The Thumbs Up Photography team – including myself, Steve Stain, Colin Powell, Garry Sugden, and Dave Peck – has poured our passion into this space, fostering an environment where encouragement is always in focus and positivity clicks with every post.
But the excitement doesn't stop there! I'm thrilled to announce two major milestones for the Thumbs Up Photography community, which has grown so wonderfully over the last two years thanks to the dedication of our entire team and our amazing 1600+ members:
A Brand New Home Online!
We've been working hard behind the scenes, and I'm delighted to reveal the launch of the official Thumbs Up Photography website: www.thumbsup.photography! As part of the Thumbs Up Photography team, alongside Steve, Colin, Garry, and Dave, I'm incredibly excited about this new online hub, which will be a fantastic resource for our already established and growing family. Expect to find:
A dedicated space to showcase the incredible photography of our 1600+ members.
Information about upcoming events, challenges, and workshops that we'll be organizing.
Easy access to join the Facebook group and connect with fellow enthusiasts.
Details about our mission and the values that drive our community – values that the entire Thumbs Up Photography team has fostered over the past two years.
We're incredibly proud of this new platform and can't wait for our 1600+ members and newcomers alike to explore it at www.thumbsup.photography!
Capturing Kindness: Our Charity Photography Exhibition at Three Snowhill, Birmingham!
Three/Snowhill
And now for the news I'm particularly excited to share, as this has been a real passion project for the Thumbs Up Photography team! We are absolutely delighted to announce the launch of our very first charity photography exhibition at the prestigious Three Snowhill building in Birmingham!
This exhibition is a fantastic opportunity for our members to showcase their talent and raise money for two incredibly worthy causes: MIND, the mental health charity, and The Disabled Photographers Society.
The exhibition will be held at Three Snowhill in Birmingham and will run from Thursday, June 12th, for approximately four months. We'll also be hosting a launch event.

The Thumbs Up Photography community, built over the past two years on the principles of support, creativity, and a shared love for capturing the world around us, is driven by the dedication of our team: myself, Steve Stain, Colin Powell, Garry Sugden, and Dave Peck. The launch of our website at www.thumbsup.photography and this charity exhibition at Three Snowhill are significant steps in our journey, and the whole Thumbs Up Photography team couldn't be more excited about what the future holds for our growing family of photographers, as we work together to support MIND and The Disabled Photographers Society.
